Véronique Nichanian’s ethereal assortment is a departure from Paris, and into the vacation mindset
Hermès’s Summer season 2023 menswear assortment is a departure from town, and into the vacation spirit—“a magic vacation spot each joyous and serene,” within the phrases of the French home’s press launch, “with the breeze imperceptibly ruffling the garments that enfold you.”
The garments in query: ethereal blousons, seahorse-printed tanks, crocodile jackets, satin bucket hats, roomy mid-thigh shorts, and thong sandals. The colour scheme was playful and colourful, but muted: sundown orange, lilac, pale yellow, off-white, gray, and brown. The clothes are “exact, crafted with the refinement of the hand and the nonchalance of a thoughts that is freed from limitations.”
The present was held on the historic Manufacture des Gobelins, a Seventeenth-century tapestry manufacturing unit. Within the courtyard, below the open air, Inventive Director Véronique Nichanian transported her friends to a vacation spot undefined, and indisputably removed from a wet day in Paris.
