(Oct. 10, 2021) The 2021 Nantucket Half Marathon was held Sunday below cloudy skies with temperatures within the mid-60s.
The race started on the Nantucket Lighthouse College on the intersection of Rugged Street and Fairgrounds Street, and the 13.1-mile route traveled alongside wooded filth roads (some with quick sandy sections), tree-lined bike paths and flippantly traveled streets in Tom Nevers with ocean views.
Neil Segel of Houston, Texas crossed the end line first in 1 hour, 20 minutes, three seconds. Alysia Dusseau of New York Metropolis was the ladies’s champion, ending second in 1:24.27, and setting a brand new course report within the course of. Nantucket’s James Congdon was the primary island finisher, crossing the road third in 1:29.45.
In all, 197 runners completed the race.
