Ahmaud Arbery jury adjourns for day without verdict in hate crimes trial of men convicted of his murder

In the course of the trial, prosecutor Christopher Perras argued that Travis McMichael “was simply searching for a purpose” to harm a Black individual and that the three males began chasing Arbery with no proof he had performed something incorrect, solely assuming so as a result of he was Black.

Copeland additionally advised the jury that the taking pictures was “primarily based on self-defense” as a result of McMichael opened hearth after Arbery tried to seize his shotgun.
