As was abundantly clear in a 73-55 victory Dec. 11 over Capital College at DeCarlo Varsity Middle, senior heart Olivia Nagy is a difference-maker for the John Carroll College girls’s basketball workforce.
Nagy completed with 12 factors and a game-high 19 rebounds because the Blue Streaks, ranked fourth nationally by d3Hoops.com, improved to 7-0 total and 3-0 within the Ohio Athletric Convention.
Capital slipped to 2-7 total and 0-3 within the OAC.
When the Blue Streaks struggled to get untracked offensively within the first quarter, Nagy went to work inside and powered in six factors to assist the Blue Streaks forge a 12-12 tie.
The 6-foot-2 Lakewood product and three-time OAC Defensive Participant of the 12 months continued to be a pressure within the second quarter because the Blue Streaks outscored the Comets, 22-3, to take a 34-15 lead at halftime.
Nagy had 10 factors and 17 rebounds within the first half.
“We’re very happy with that efficiency within the second quarter, particularly on protection,” Nagy stated.
