Set on the Superblue museum in Miami, Florida, Dior unveiled its Medallion Chair Exhibition with a star-studded visitor record that included the likes of Karlie Kloss, Venus Williams, Ricky Martin, Lucas Jagger, and extra. Staged throughout Design Miami and Artwork Basel Miami Seashore, the occasion celebrated the home’s commemorative exhibition that first opened in Milan, Italy, earlier this yr.
Dior invited seventeen artists from around the globe to supply their interpretation of the home’s storied emblem, the Medallion Char. Marked by an oval backing and streamlined adornments, the medallion chair has grow to be a signature within the DNA of the home of Dior. An emblem of Louis XVI, the chair was chosen by founder Christian Dior and had been used as seats for the home’s first runway exhibits. Since, the chair has been a frequent motif all through the home’s endeavors and has been used as a marker of cultural and private expression.
On show on the exhibit are interpretations from international artists Sam Baron, Ignacio Carbonell Ivars, Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, Khaled El Mays, Martino Gamper, Constance Guisset, India Mahdavi, nendo, Pleasure de Rohan Chabot, Linde Freya Tangelder, Atang Tshikare, Seungjin Yang, Ma Yansong, Jinyeong Yeon, Tokujin Yoshioka and Pierre Yovanovitch. The exhibition shall be open till December fifth at Superblue.
